Freedom!Oct 16, 2008 Love this stroller! I'm comparing it to my Snap 'N Go that I also love, but is much smaller and made for flat surfaces.
Pros:
1.Big wheels
2.Reclining seat
3.Adjustable handle-my husband is 6'6" and I'm 5'0". This fits us both.
4.Effective foot brake
5.Large awning
6.Awning can be moved down in front of child for oncoming sun
7.Accessible basket below
8.Suspensions for smooth ride
9.Excellent color choices (we picked yellow for the fun color and for visibility by others)
10.Pivot or fixed front wheel (I don't jog, so probably won't use the fixed wheel feature)
11.Zippered large pocket behind seat back
12.Child's cup holder and pocket INSIDE the seat area
Cons:
1.Awning material is crusty feeling. I'm sure that it's supposed to be waterproof, but it's also cheap looking
2.Footrest is triangular, so when my baby's legs are long enough for his feet to touch the foot rest, there will hardly be any space to put his feet. They will basically dangle in air, which is a strain on his back.
3.Child's tray removes, but you have to completely snap it off, it doesn't slide away to the side. Because of this, you cannot have anything in the tray when you put it on or take it off. Also, if the tray is on before you put your child in the stroller, you either need to lift the child up over the tray and slide him/her in, or take off the tray and then snap it back on. My son is not old enough to need a tray so it's not an issue at this point.
4.No way to secure stroller when it's folded
5.Basket below is rather small and shallow
I am a first time parent with a 6 month old (who happens to be big for his age). We live in a neighborhood where the sidewalks are cracked, buckled and rugged. Some places, there are no curb ramps so I was always having to lift up the Snap `N Go (Snap) in two motions in order to lift it up over the curb. This was after coming to a complete stop. With the jogger, I don't have to stop much at the curbs and can easily push down on the handle to lift up the front wheel and then slightly lift up the handle again to lift up the back wheels over the curb. It's so much easier. The ride is smoother and I don't have to come to a complete stop to roll over the smallest cracks in the sidewalks, either.
My son loves to look out, which wasn't so much an option in the Snap, as he was sitting in his car seat looking up at me.
I love the awning! It's quite large and has blocked out 100% of the sun on my child's face so far. When the sun is setting, I just slide the awning down in front of him and he is completely blocked from the oncoming sun. Of course, he can't see anything this way. The material of the awning is probably wonderful because it's lightweight and waterproof, it just sounds crinkly and always looks wrinkled and cheap. It might soften with time. Seriously, it's my least complaint about the stroller.
I'm going to buy a strap that you tie skis together so that I can tie the stroller together when it's folded. Strange that they didn't make a device to do that. The jogger is rather bulky, but I expected that. It's a little cumbersome to fold up and put in my trunk, but I expected that. Considering that I've been using a Snap this whole time, I think my adjustment to the jogger has been quite smooth.
I may buy some shoulder guards to protect my son's neck from the thin harness straps. All in all, I am very happy with this jogger. I would have given it 5 stars save the minor details I listed above.
Very pleased with this stroller!Oct 02, 2008 I test drove many other strollers and researched quite a bit before deciding on this one. Compared to other joggers that cost at least twice as much, I LOVE this stroller! It folds up very compactly, and the wheels pop off very easily to put it in a small trunk. For the time being, we have left the child tray off, as our infant doesn't need it, but it does pop on and off very easily. The canopy is very good for keeping the sun off baby, and is generously sized. The rear brakes are easy to operate, although it should be noted that this stroller does not have a hand brake as some joggers do. The basket sits nice and high off the ground and does not drag, and the handle adjusts easily, with just a push of a button. The front wheel can be locked if you desire. This stroller is less bulky than other joggers, and maneuvers easily in tight places such as stores and malls. It has replaced my Peg Perego as my everyday stroller!
Great budget jogger!Sep 02, 2008 I researched jogging strollers for a long time before settling on this one. I could not find one in a store to test out, so I went on pure faith. For the money, I am very satisfied! I got the stroller cheaper than it is listed on Amazon, also. I have the gold and gray version and get complimented constantly, even by men! The stroller, though steel, is not very heavy. I can fit it in my compact car's trunk if I pop the wheels off, which is very easy. It maneuvers wonderfully thanks to the big air filled tires and swivel front wheel. The shocks provide a smooth ride for my son over our cracked and bumpy old sidewalks. Some pluses over other joggers in this price range - the sunshade is HUGE and ratchets if needed to move completely in front of the child, also the weather shield is built in to the canopy - very convenient! The adjustable handle means anyone pushes it in comfort. There are a cup holder and pocket in the upholstery on the child's seat, so you don't always have to use the child tray. Also, the parent tray is great! Finally, unlike most cheaper strollers, this one has a 5 year warranty versus the 1 year I had found on most other inexpensive joggers. My son is 27 months old and is very comfortable. I can see this stroller lasting us a long time. It is rated to 75lbs. My complaints are that the upholstery and padding on the seat seems a bit cheap (but not uncomfortable) and I don't like the harness. Also, the child tray has to be popped off to get the child in and out of the stroller. The stroller does not lock when folded, which is not a huge deal, but something someone may want to know. Finally, the basket underneath is roomy and sturdy, but I feel like the way it is tilted, things might fall out if I was jogging too fast. Overall, I am glad I did not spend twice as much for a higher end stroller. This jogger is sturdy, rides nicely, and fits my child, which were my main concerns. You won't be disappointed with this one!
