5If you don't have one, buy oneJul 09, 2008
I purchased the Chariot Cougar 2 for my 2 1/2 year old son two weeks ago. I spent over a year obsessing over a bike trailer and wanting one, but not wanting to spend the money. Finally one day after driving 20 miles to a yard sale to see a Burley trailer covered in mold, I told my husband I REALLY WANTED IT. I was a little apprehensive about spending so much money only to discover our little man wouldn't like riding in it, or pulling the trailer would prove to be too much of a challenge. My husband was worried it would be unsafe. NONE Of these fears proved to be true. Our son LOVES the bike trailer. He runs out of the house to get in. When I first put him in with his helmet and closed the "bug net" around him, i anticipated a little banter, but got nothing. We got home from our first ride and he asked "can we do this again soon????" Pulling the chariot cougar is a breeze. Sure, it's a workout... but if you're considering this trailer, that's what your after.

All I can say is BUY IT. They hold their value and you will not regret it. I do agree it is very expensive, but your health and promoting an active lifestyle for our children is worth it. Happy Biking!

4Perfect - just what we were looking for.Jun 21, 2008
We absolutely love our Chariot. We looked at other brands but they just didn't seem to have the quality of the Chariot. It's VERY sturdy and has an awesome suspension. The seat is very cushy and our daughter does not giggle around in it at all. She is a very tiny 8 month old and can take bumps and curbs like it's nothing in this thing. I agree with the other user that it would be nice if some of the accessories came with it because honestly, by the time you buy the bike hitch and stroller wheels (we also bought the fleece head bunting) you're looking at about $800. Well worth every penny though!!

Any much to my surprise, I have enjoyed using the Chariot as a stroller. I have a Bugaboo and a Maclaren stroller and find that for everyday walks and jogs around the neighborhood the Chariot is my favorite. I strap the dog's leash to the wide handle and on we go...everyone is comfy and enjoys the ride. I love that my daughter has an "area" for her toys and books. She can play with things while we're jogging and nothing gets tossed out of the stroller. I initially just bought the jogger and stroller wheels for when we cycle to destinations and get out and have lunch (they attach to the tailer when not in use) so I never intended to use it as much as I do. If you cycle and run a lot, don't buy a jogging stroller - just get the Chariot! It's 3 things in one.

I also love that there's a lot of storage both inside the "cabin" and in the back storage pocket. The back pocket is huge which is nice for long rides (it folds up flat when you're not using it). There's also a nice mesh pocket under the handle for a cell phone/keys. One down side is that it doesn't fold that flat. It folds enough for storage and destination bike trips of course but you would want to use another stroller for everyday car trips. I just keep mine set up in the garage and easily attach it to either the bike or put on the stroller wheel (takes 10 seconds). We are pleased with this product and glad we spent a little extra for it.

4My whole family loves our Cougar!Mar 19, 2008
I purchased the 2008 Cougar about 2 weeks ago for use on my Cannodale mt bike for hauling my 15 month old daughter on some family/day rides. She loves it! This is a terrific product that is definitely on the high end of products in its class. Let me explain why we chose this model over a few others:
- Extremely padded sittigt area. My daughter is picky, so we wanted to give her the maximum comfort in her rides. She is a skirmy little girl, so this is really nice.
- Suspension system. While it doesnt sound like much, this makes the ride SOOOO much smoother. She falls asleep super fast now on a ride. Most other solutions dont have this so your child will feel it.
- UV protected plastic. Another big deal, especially down here in Texas. You need to protect the little ones skin!
- Its a transformer. Chariot sells virtually any type of conversion kit so we can add a stroller kit or jogging kit. I love to have that option so this is why we went this route.

I probably would have given this 5 stars if it for the price Chariot included at least the trailer hitch in the default package, but they do not. I think they do it to keep their product competitive to other high end trailer hitches. So make sure you buy one before you go out cycling!
